Alabama Safety Products, Inc.

Alabama Safety started in January of 1992 and incorporated in June of 1992. The journey to opening Alabama Safety started during the college years for Tracy Rouse, Owner/President. Tracy worked for a wholesale distributor selling pipe, valves and fittings to local foundries. As a young woman in safety she rarely encountered other working women in her field and soon realized the tremendous opportunities available for a Woman In Safety. Tracy held onto this opportunity while she continued college.

Tracy received her MBA while working for BellSouth and soon was offered an opportunity to work with others in the company concentrating on safety issues. Tracy got the “Safety Bug” and took courses and electives in safety during graduate school. All along keeping in touch with the people she worked with during college in the distribution business.

Being at the right place at the right time may sound cliché but it is true. The relationships that were built early on proved to be invaluable in starting Alabama Safety. Realizing that her BellSouth customers were also “Safety Customers”, the time was right to start Alabama Safety.

She started with a small office, some warehouse space and some contacts, and we began calling on the local customers. Alabama Safety was given opportunities with most everyone they called on because there was not a safety supply distributor between Birmingham, Alabama and Atlanta, Georgia.
